If the Xmas tree has some vacant spaces, does it not have the personal feeling, or just want to make something (with your kids) as a gift? Salt dough ornaments are the answer! Easy to make, and nice to give.
What you need:
Some recipes say you can add white paint to the dough for a natural white effect, I haven' t tested this yet. Have you tested it, please let me know how it went!

Photo's are memories, time frames, happy shots, and I can't get enough of them! But to have all my photo's out is a bit much, so by then I need to start sorting. I hate sorting out all the happy times that I all want to put up on my wall... So with this amazing D.I.Y. I'm saved for a while. Go to the forest and find yourself some nice branches.
Things you’ll need:
Directions:First, you want to cut five strands of string, all about 90-150 cm long depending on how many pictures you want. Take your pictures and punch a hole in the center, top and bottom of every photo. Take your string and put it through the first hole punch in the picture and tie a knot, repeat this for the bottom hole as well. Continue on with your photos until you reach the end of every strand. And then it’ll turn out like this! (Hopefully)

I love chalk paint! Of course its great to use when you wants to make a chalk board for the kids, but it's also good fun for the big kids! Chalk paint has a rougher, matt finish so the paint stands out a bit more then normal paint. Chalk paint also comes in different colours, so just race to the nearest hardware store and check out what they have. While you're there check also there magnetic paint, to make and handy magnetic and chalk board in one! Here is some inspiration for you:
